Art Project as a Full Experiment

In order to work on art project as a full experiment, unrelated to art market, and entire contemporary vocabulary of "workshops", "concepts" etc. Biro invited a group of artists to learn a new language outside a entire system of gallery walls and recipients as "message senders and receivers", and the ways in which art becomes a message "packed to be consumed". "Under the bridge" hence, consumed reality through attempt to communicate elementary, essential aspects of social existance in general, such as language and communication, in its essence. In order to communicate we use language or languages, and in "Under the bridge" gathered artists and friends from diffrent countries like Serbia, Austria, Great Britain, Germany, Estonia, Finland and Hungary. Dialogue between all participants was possible every day, during long walks, and in the evenings, on lectures etc...

It could reveal "shifted" semantic conditions, in my opinion. Some words like "humanitarian", " poverty", "clean", "power", "healthy" etc proved to mean diffrent conditions and levels for each participant. The scope into problems is diffrent, experiance about social practices is diffrent, so that last decades formed a diffrence in understanding of many nouns and adjectives, and the ways we perceive the world and express it through language.

"Under the bridge" as gathering point approached this result carefully, giving the most of the time and attention to new adjustments of common language which would mean possibility to communicate again, have shared knowledge, defined with awareness of "originally" living in "diffrent worlds", such are for exp. Europian Community and Serbia today.

Joint visit to the " favelas" under Belgrade Gazela Bridge, as a social and humanitarian shock, brought participants closer to become finally aware of multitude of meanings, surrounded by original gypsy community, that lives in the most difficult conditions. Paper houses with no water or heating witness and remind on primary existance and language unonimous by its meanings.

The organiser Biro brings no humanitarian aid to these people, out of normal human condition of friendliness and joint meal. As a group, participants step out of their original language and understanding grounds, tourists or " visitor" identity, prejudices and preknowledge, expectations and full size art projects, for the sake of refreshed ability to perceive, on new common ground, reality. Reinventing a more profound meanings of communication and language brings us to question: Do the citizens of Russia, France, U.S.A, Urugway, Pakistan and others ever visit, without any special purpose, out of schedule of holidays and visits, their own UN troups, that, for example, make and sell child pornography in Kongo, payed also by these countries?

To present a child rape as prostitution, soldiers give a pay of a jar of mayonese to twelve year old girls... A food that is considered unhealthy and can cause problem with cholesterol, in developed world. How can we capture shaking meanings between the most advanced products and abundance at one place and misery, poverty and destruction on the other parts of the Globe? Process in itself unfair, produces also diffrence in language, communication and understanding.

"Under the bridge" gave us as one of possible conclusions a recommendation, to be guest, and to be host wherever on Earth. To play together without fear. To visit a third social group, accept and learn that we all share the same world, that can sometimes be seen out of its market values, marketing language and limited social perception. One could feel safe and free with this motive, even in the most strange and difficult surroundings.

Once again, be guest and be host, aiming only on communication, at the moment, the most endangered reality of all possible realities offered to our saturated view.
