"Bottle of Sand as part of Projection and Projector in the same time - What could be Mongolia?"
Proposal for the exibition Feel Felt



While we were thinking about how to relate ourself with Mongolia we found out that 50km from
Belgrade, in Deliblato desert, the movie Chinggis Khan was recorded during the 60ies. We went 
there to make video-recordings and found Sava Jovanov, who was organising the horses for 
the movie. He showed us the desert and told us stories about the recording of Chinggis Khan.

This videomaterial from Yugoslavia we will bring with us to Mongolia.
 
We have a bottle of sand which we got like a proof from this man and like an object for connection 
to a potentional person in Mongolia (he said: "This is the sand of Chinggis Khan, my son"). 
We have to bring this sand to the real sand in the mongolian desert and to release it from the bottle.

There are a lot of stories. One is the story from the movie Chinggis Khan, another is the story 
from our old man who took part in the movie, and another is the one who will appear when we 
start to make connection with an eqvivalent person from Mongolia.  
With these stories we want to close the circle about the question what is Mongolia in fact, 
and what is the image of Mongolia. 

During our stay we will work out a video installation with material from Yugoslavia and material 
from Mongolia for the exhibition in Ulaanbaatar.

With us we will bring our video camera, computer for video editing and other equipment for 
the realisation of our project.
